With spring right around the corner, you may be getting a
little anxious on getting your skin back to the radiant condition you prefer. I have compiled a few tips together to help
you get started on improving your skin, while it’s still a little chilly out. If
you follow these simple, easy steps to keep your skin up to its tiptop shape,
you and your skin will be ready to strut your stuff for the upcoming season!
You should always remember to hydrate yourself from the
outside, in. Although you may think your skin is completely hydrated, sometimes
keeping our skin hydrated is often looked over. Use a daily moisturizer such as
Vaseline
Cocoa Butter Lotion on your skin along
with your daily skincare routine whenever you get out of the shower. This way you
are helping to hydrate your skin and giving it the extra touch of moisturizer it
may need.
Another important way
to hydrate your skin is by drinking lots and lots of water! Water is the most
purifying thing you can give to your skin to make it look its healthiest. By
drinking water, not only are you hydrating your skin, you are also helping to
wash out all the toxins your body may have consumed over this chilly winter
season. Your skin will thank you for this.
To really enhance your moisturizing routine to get the best
results, use a gentle
exfoliator to scrape off all the dead skin cells from head to toe. If you
are into DIY remedies, try this little concoction as your exfoliator, it works
amazingly!
What you will need
is:
• A large bowl
• 1 2/3 cups of salt or sugar
• 1/2 cup of olive oil
• 3 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice
• 1 2/3 cups of salt or sugar
• 1/2 cup of olive oil
• 3 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice
For your lips, use a lip exfoliator to get those smooth,
plump lips you have always wanted. By doing this, you will be removing the dead
skin cells that have built up from dry skin and the biggest no no of all,
licking your lips. Avoid licking your lips at all cost! You will just make your
lips more chapped in the long run.
Instead use your favorite lip moisturizer, mine being Burt's
Bees Lip Shimmer. If you want to go the more natural route for your lip
exfoliator try this DIY remedy:
·
1 teaspoon of white sugar
·
A few drops of olive oil
·
Mix, scrub, exfoliate, enjoy!
Good luck and happy winterizing. See you in spring!
